Terms of Service
The agreement between you and PrecisionApply. Last updated 6 September 2026.
The short version
Use the service sensibly and don’t upload other people’s resumes. Everything it produces is a draft written by an AI, so read it before you send it to an employer, because you are responsible for what you submit. It’s free right now, it may break, and we can’t promise you a job or an interview.
These terms govern your use of PrecisionApply (“the service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
1. What the service does
PrecisionApply helps you track job applications and uses AI to produce tailored application materials: cover letters, a reformatted resume, answers to screening questions, interview preparation and networking suggestions, plus a score estimating how well your resume matches a job.
2. Your account
- You need an account, and you must give an email address you actually control.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in secure.
- One person per account. Don’t share logins.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
3. What you upload
You keep ownership of everything you upload: your resume, your notes, anything you type. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, and to send it to our AI provider so documents can be generated for you. Nothing more. We don’t claim rights over your resume and we don’t use it to train models.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Specifically:
- Upload your own resume, not someone else’s. Uploading another person’s resume means sending their personal data to a third-party AI service without their knowledge. Don’t.
- Don’t upload confidential material belonging to an employer.
- Don’t upload anything unlawful or infringing.
4. AI output, read this one properly
Everything the service generates is a draft. AI systems make mistakes: they can misstate facts, exaggerate your experience, invent details, or produce wording that doesn’t sound like you.
Read and check every document before sending it to an employer. You are solely responsible for what you submit in your name. Submitting an application containing inaccurate claims can cost you an offer or a job, and that consequence falls on you, not on us.
The fit score is an estimate, not a prediction. It doesn’t know what the employer wants, who else applied, or how their screening works. A high score isn’t a promise of an interview; a low one isn’t a reason not to apply for a job you want.
The service preserves your resume’s formatting on a best-effort basis. Complex layouts may not reproduce exactly, and colour is not preserved. Always open the downloaded file and check it before sending.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- Create multiple accounts to get around usage limits.
- Resell, redistribute or run the service as your own product.
- Use automated means to access it at scale, or otherwise try to run up our AI costs deliberately.
- Attempt to break, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or other accounts.
- Use it to generate deliberately false or fraudulent applications.
6. Plans, limits and payment
Accounts have usage limits: a number of document generations per period, and caps on saved jobs and resumes. Limits are enforced by the service and may be adjusted.
There is currently no paid plan and no way to pay. The pricing page describes plans that are not yet purchasable. Every account today is free. If paid plans launch, we will publish clear terms covering billing, renewals and refunds before charging anyone, and using the service now creates no obligation to pay later.
7. Availability
The service is provided as-is and early in its life. It may be unavailable, slow, or change without notice, and features may be added or removed. We don’t offer a service-level guarantee. Please keep your own copies of anything important. Don’t treat this as the only home for your resume.
8. Third-party services
The service depends on third parties, including our AI provider, database host and hosting platform. Interruptions or changes on their side can affect it. When you paste a job URL we fetch that page; we don’t control and aren’t responsible for external sites. See the Privacy Policy for who receives what.
9. Ending your use
You can stop at any time, and can ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing support@precisionapply.com. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, or that place an unreasonable cost burden on the service.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that using it will get you interviews, offers or a job.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost job opportunities, lost earnings, or loss of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months (currently nil) or USD 50.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where significant, notified by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
The service is operated from Ontario, Canada. These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of the service, are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not take away any right you have under the law of the country or province you live in, including any right to bring a claim there. Where local consumer law gives you stronger protection than these terms, that law applies.
